About Tea

There are four main types of tea, although all varieties of true tea come from the same plant (known as Camelia sinesis). The leaves of this plant are processed differently for each type of tea, resulting in a different color and texture. The four varieties are green tea, black tea, white tea and oolong tea.http://www.the-color-of-tea.com/types-of-tea.html

The history of tea dates back to over 5,000 years ago, to ancient Asia. The story goes that an emperor by the name of Shen Nung ordered the boiling of all drinking water for sanitary reasons. One day while water was being boiled, some leaves accidentally fell into the pot. The emperor had a taste, and found the liquid enjoyable. Thus, tea was discovered. Historians believe that this story may be some variation of what actually happened.http://www.stashtea.com/history+of+tea.aspx
